Two years after our entry into the Belgian market and one year after the opening of our office in Brussels, we at Christie’s International Real Estate continue to strengthen our presence in the country with the opening of a new office in Waterloo, a strategic location in the heart of Walloon and Flemish Brabant. “We are continuing our expansion as planned since our arrival on the Belgian market,” explains Jean-Marc Delcroix, Managing Partner of Christie’s International Real Estate Brussels.

Brussels, Antwerp and now Waterloo too. With Christie’s International Real Estate Belgium, represented by the Hillewaere Group, we are taking a new step in our development in Wallonia with the opening of an office in Waterloo. This new office reinforces our ambition as part of the global network of prestigious estate agents: to offer a local, excellent and reliable service to our clients in the most sought-after regions of Belgium.

Takeover of the former Barnes Brabant estate agency in Waterloo

Our office is taking over the entire business of the former Barnes Brabant agency in Waterloo, including its full property portfolio and part of the existing team.

Nicolas Frings will personally oversee the transition of these operations and will subsequently continue his involvement with Christie’s International Real Estate Belgium as a brand ambassador.

The office will cover Wallonia-Brabant and the municipalities south of Brussels.

The Belgian venture enters a new phase

This new office also marks a strategic shift towards Wallonia, with a strengthened presence in an area offering great potential and strong residential appeal.

First steps in Wallonia for the Hillewaere Group

The opening of the office in Waterloo marks a new chapter not only for Christie’s International Real Estate, but also for Hillewaere Vastgoed. Together with the Hillewaere Group, led by entrepreneur Roel Druyts, we have secured an exclusive licence for Belgium from Christie’s International Real Estate. Since our foundation in 2002, our estate agencies had previously operated solely in Flanders.

“In practical terms, properties valued at over 1 million euros will be marketed under the Christie’s banner. At the Waterloo office, we will also be offering other properties from Hillewaere Vastgoed. These are our first steps as a group in the French-speaking part of Belgium”, explains Bart Van Delm, Managing Director of Hillewaere Vastgoed & Christie’s International Real Estate Belgium.
